What Levels mode is
Each level is a ready-made board with some blocks marked as gems. You place the pieces you are given using the normal rules: clear rows and columns, and the board shifts right or down afterwards. The level is won when no gems are left.
How gems leave the board
- Clear its line. If a gem sits in a row or column you complete, it is removed with the line.
- Shift it off the edge. A clear moves every block, gems included. A gem pushed past the right or bottom edge is gone as well.
Gems near the bottom-right edges are close to leaving, since shifts go right and down. A gem near the top-left has a long way out, so you either complete its line or set up several clears in a row. Later levels place more gems farther from those edges. The tips page explains the shift planning that helps here.
Stars
Every level has a par: the number of moves a reference solver needed to win it. Your stars depend on how many moves you used:
- 3 stars: within par.
- 2 stars: within twice par.
- 1 star: any win.
Retrying is free, and the game keeps your best result for each level.
Progress and difficulty
There are 999 levels, and each one is the same for every player. A level opens once the one before it is won. Early levels have a single gem and a sparse board; later ones add more gems and more blocks, up to seven gems. Each level was checked to be winnable with the pieces it gives you.
